The University Call for Social Impact Projects – POpS 2025 Edition, promoted by Politecnico di Torino as part of the activities of the University's Centre, was established to support and promote collaborative research projects with a strong social impact.
The initiative is fully aligned with the Rector's mandate and the strategic priorities set out in the University's Strategic Plan, PoliTO in Transition, which identifies public engagement and the creation of public value as key drivers of sustainable development.
Also made possible through the support of Fondazione CRT, the call aims to strengthen the University's role as a platform for social innovation by fostering synergies among researchers, departments, and public and private stakeholders across the region, while promoting research that is increasingly focused on generating value for society.
The call is designed to support projects capable of generating intentional, positive, and lasting social change, making a tangible contribution to improving the quality of life of individuals and communities, with particular attention to the needs of the most vulnerable groups.
Project proposals are expected to address significant societal challenges in areas such as education, digital transformation, health, accessibility, public policy, regional development, economics, and management. Eligible initiatives include co-design activities, feasibility studies, and pilot projects aimed at delivering tangible and measurable outcomes for citizens, public institutions, organisations, and businesses.
This first edition attracted strong interest, receiving a total of 35 applications and engaging a wide range of regional stakeholders. Following the evaluation process, 7 projects were selected for funding.
