SENSUS ACCESS is a service that allows documents, files and web pages to be converted into alternative, accessible, multimedia, text and audio formats. The service is specifically designed for people with disabilities, but is available to all students and staff of the Politecnico di Torino.
The user can access different services and convert documents according to individual needs:
- Digital Braille Reading
- Audio files: MP3 and audio books (in DAISY format)
- E-book in EPUB, EPUB3 format
The service can also be used to facilitate the use of otherwise inaccessible documents such as image-only PDF files or scanned images/texts.
The conversion process involves four simple steps:
- Uploading the original file
- Choice of final format (output)
- Sending of request
- Receipt of an e-mail with the converted and accessible file or the download link in the case of large files
Submitted documents will be automatically deleted when the conversion is completed.
The processed file will be available for 7 days. After this period, the requested processing will be automatically deleted from the server.
Students and the entire academic community of the Politecnico di Torino can use the service via their institutional e-mail address (@polito.it). The service does not accept personal emails.

This service is provided solely for educational, teaching, personal and non-commercial use. Any other use is prohibited
Responsibility for any copyright infringement lies with the end user. The end user is authorised to use the converted file in an accessible format exclusively for personal use.
Neither the Politecnico di Torino nor SensusAccess will be held liable for any information disclosed and/or misused
The end user is responsible for the safekeeping of the material made available, which must be used without infringing the intellectual property rights of the relevant authors.
It is not recommended to use this service to send and exchange confidential or private information.
The end user is also responsible for the safekeeping and use of processed files received from Sensus Access.
Sensus Access processes the information sent by the end user, converts it into an alternative format and returns it to the end user in an accessible format.
Sensus Access is committed to providing accurate and reliable results, but neither the Politecnico di Torino nor Sensus Access can guarantee the accuracy of these results.
