Horizon 2020 projects

Logo Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 has been a major European Union funding program for research and innovation.  With a budget of nearly 80 billion euros for 7 years (2014 to 2020), it supported research projects and actions aimed at scientific and technological innovation, including transferring big ideas from the laboratory to the market.

Politecnico di Torino has played a role in more than 300 projects, the active H2020 Research and Innovation projects in which Politecnico di Torino is coordinator of the research partnership are available below.

Processor with AI overlay

Analog/Mixed Signal Back End Design Automation based on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Techniques.
The AMBEATion project aims to use Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Modeling techniques in order to extend automation from digital to analog design.

Hologram of a heart being held analysed

The ALTERNATIVE project will develop a platform for assessing the cardiotoxicity of chemicals or pharmaceuticals, single and in mixtures. This platform will be based on an in vitro cardiac tissue model coupled with a multi-omics analysis system and integrated with artificial intelligence risk assessment algorithms.

A key to mimic nature and drive therapeutic nanoparticles.
A project dedicated to studying and understanding how extracellular vesicles recognize and reach their targets in the case of cancer metastasis, to be inspired by this mechanism and treat a rare metabolic disease of bone.

Un'idea che supera le altre

COMPutationally empowered Electromagnetic industrial TalEnts.
The goal of COMPETE is to strengthen the overlap between the expertise needs of the electromagnetics industry for frontier applications and academic doctoral programs, which train industrial and academic researchers, engineers and research designers in electromagnetics.

More and Less H2020, sustainable aviation

MDO and REgulations for Low-boom and Environmentally Sustainable Supersonic aviation.
The MOREandLESS project will assess the environmental sustainability of future supersonic civil transport aircraft through a holistic approach.

Aviation, road vehicles and sea transports

Workforce Europe - TRANSFORMation Agenda for transport automation.
The WE-TRANSFORM project will use a participatory approach and collective intelligence techniques to create a working agenda useful for devising policies to counter the effects of transportation automation and digitization on the labor market.

The PARENT project will use a multidisciplinary approach to develop a platform to support early diagnosis of motor and cognitive problems in premature infants. The goal will be achieved with input from a large European network of research groups, industry partners, children's hospitals and patient family associations.
