Academic Cooperation italy-Japan: prof. Morandotti mission between Kyoto and Fukuoka
Prof. Marco Morandotti, a member of the Academic Board of the Japan Hub, was on a mission to Japan from March 22 to April 8.
During his stay, he visited Kyoto University and Kyushu University. At Kyoto University, he visited the SACRA Center (Center for Science Adventure and Collaborative Research Advancement), part of the Graduate School of Science, within the framework of his collaboration with Dr. Edoardo Fabbrini and Prof. Pierluigi Cesana. On this occasion, he also delivered a seminar on March 24.
He then moved to Kyushu University, where he met with Suguru Niihara (Global Relations Office, School of Science), Kenji Kajiwara (Director of the Institute for Mathematics in Industry), and Fumio Hiroshima (Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics). Prof. Pierluigi Cesana also attended the meeting, as the Kyushu-side coordinator of the agreement with the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Politecnico di Torino. A Memorandum of Understanding is currently in place between the Department of Mathematics of Politecnico di Torino and the Faculty of Mathematics at Kyushu University.
During the meeting, Prof. Morandotti presented both Politecnico di Torino and the activities of the PoliTO Japan Hub. Possible strategies to strengthen and further develop collaboration between the two institutions were also discussed, with the aim of elevating the existing agreement to a higher level.
