With Directorial Decree of n. 167 of 03/10/2023, the Italian Ministry of University and Research has published the Notice for the granting of funding for transnational educational initiatives - TNE, aimed at the selection and financing of transnational educational initiatives (TNE) within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Politecnico di Torino participated in the Notice with 5 project proposals that were all admitted to financing with D.D. 225 of 07/25/2024.

The TNE projects have as their general objective the promotion of cooperation with foreign universities in order to encourage the internationalization of Italian universities and promote the Italian higher education model as best practice at an international level. The projects must implement, through partnerships with Italian universities and with associated partner universities from non-European countries, various initiatives including: two-way mobility of teaching staff for teaching periods abroad (TNE Teaching), two-way mobility of students in higher education (TNE Study), collaborations among universities aimed at developing double/joint degree programs, development of post-graduate advanced training programs (TNE AdvancedSkills).

Financial support is available to carry out the project actvities in different forms, among which student and staff mobility scholarships. Participants in the TNE projects of Politecnico di Torino should check the following procedures to access the financial support funded by the projects.

The activities in detail
a. Individual mobility in higher education (TNE Teachers). This scheme allows: i. university professors from Italian institutions to spend a teaching period of between 5 days and 3 months, excluding the duration of travel, at an associated foreign university institution; ii. to university professors from foreign institutions to spend a teaching period of between 5 days and 3 months, excluding the duration of travel, at an Italian partner university.
b. Individual mobility in higher education (TNE Studio). This scheme allows: i. university students and doctoral students to spend a study period of between 2 and 6 months, excluding the duration of travel, at an associated foreign university institution; ii. international university students and doctoral students to spend a study period of between 2 and 6 months, excluding the duration of travel, at an Italian partner university.
c. Double/Joint Degree Programs (TNE Double/Joint Degree). This scheme allows the financing of collaborations between university institutions in different countries aimed at the creation of double/joint degree programmes.
d. Second level training (TNE AdvancedSkills). This scheme supports the development of advanced training programmes to be undertaken after obtaining a university degree. These programs, managed by the Italian and foreign university institutions involved in the project, are aimed at teaching, non-teaching and research staff.
