TLlab is committed to offering training courses, seminars and workshops to teachers of all levels, with basic, advanced and continuing training programmes.

The training areas offered are:

  • Basic training: Learning To Teach course, 40 hours over six modules covering various topics (lesson planning, teaching methods, technologies, student relations, assessment, etc.). Here is a complete description of the course.
  • Specific training on teaching and training approaches and supporting technologies: Training sessions for the acquisition of skills and abilities in specific teaching techniques.
  • Specific training for international and multicultural classes and other aspects of inclusion: Training courses and meetings to acquire awareness and techniques to use in international classes and to include minorities.
  • Specific training to enhance teaching skills.
  • Training to support teachers and the community.

The aim of the course is to enable teachers to familiarise themselves with the main features of Moodle, so that they can design and organise their teaching activities using the platform.

The course is based on practical exploration of Moodle and allows participants to become familiar with the basic features needed to start using the tool effectively, while highlighting its central role in educational innovation.

Experiential course for teachers based on theatrical improvisation, designed to develop flexibility, active listening and management of the unexpected. The objectives of the course are to improve the quality of classroom presence, making it more fluid and rewarding, and to promote effective communication in a relaxed and positive atmosphere.

Practical course aimed at teachers to acquire the basics for designing and implementing a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). The training course covers all stages: from course design to lesson structuring, from content writing to the creation of effective educational videos. Operational skills will be provided for the creation and delivery of content and on digital tools for video preparation.

Moodle labs are practical, interactive two-hour workshops that allow those who already have an overview of Moodle to gain in-depth knowledge of specific advanced features of the platform.

 

In this module, you will explore the different types of questions and advanced features of the “Quiz”, discovering how to integrate it with other Moodle resources to design engaging learning experiences.

Through practical examples and case studies, you will analyse how the “Quiz” can be adapted to different teaching methodologies, such as:

Formative assessment: Use the “Quiz” to provide immediate feedback to students, monitoring their progress and identifying areas for improvement.

Summative assessment: Use the “Quiz” to assess student learning at the end of a module or course, with the option to set scores, time limits and attempts.

Active learning: Take advantage of different question types (multiple choice, true/false, matching, etc.) to encourage student participation and interaction.

Personalised learning: Use the “Quiz” customised feedback and branching features to tailor the assessment to individual student needs.

The Moodle ‘Assignment’ module is a versatile and powerful tool that allows students to submit work in digital format, either individually or in groups. In this module, we will explore the different ways in which ‘Assignments’ can be used, discovering how to integrate them with other Moodle features to create engaging and innovative learning experiences.

🔹 When: 13 October 2025 - June 2026

In this program, teachers who have acquired skills through basic training courses and have significant teaching experience are trained to become mentors. The activities include specific training and experimentation with the role of mentor in peer groups. In the groups (mentoring units), methods, tasks, values, and tools are shared, and a common reflection on mentoring is developed.

The Mentoring Project aims to support teachers in their teaching activities by sharing teaching practices and enhancing the teaching community. Within this project, a group of university teachers (mentors), trained by expert educators in previous years, is available to work with colleagues (mentees) who wish to discuss and share experiences or be accompanied during an innovative teaching initiative.

A practical meeting dedicated to the educational use of Padlet, the platform that allows you to create interactive virtual bulletin boards, now enhanced with generative AI tools.

During the training session, we will explore concrete applications in a university context, including:

  • Starting the course: getting to know the class and gathering expectations
  • Assessing prior knowledge
  • Collaborative summary of the program covered
  • Formative assessment of a lesson or part of a lesson
  • Active student involvement, for example in the final phase of a think-pair-share activity or through real-time surveys

Moodle Labs are practical, interactive two-hour workshops that allow those who already have an overview of Moodle to gain in-depth knowledge of specific advanced features of the platform.

The workshop introduces participants to the Workshop plugin, an advanced and versatile tool ideal for university lecturers who wish to implement active learning methodologies based on peer assessment and self-assessment. This module allows you to manage the entire process of submitting student work, cross-evaluation, and the subsequent review and feedback phase.

The EduCare – Specific Needs course offers teachers an opportunity for discussion and professional growth to better address the challenges associated with the specific educational needs of students enrolled in their classes. Through practical activities and moments of reflection, inclusive and effective strategies are explored, useful for enhancing the aptitudes of all students. A course designed for those who want to make teaching more attentive, flexible, and participatory.

🔹 When: The course will take place online between December 15, 2025, and June 19, 2026, and will require a commitment equivalent to two weeks of full-time study, corresponding to a total of 80 hours.

 

The TLlab training program, in collaboration with the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, is a free course aimed at teachers who wish to develop their teaching skills and intercultural awareness in order to teach in an international classroom in English. The course consists of six modules of four weeks each, held in English (a CEFR level of at least B2 is strongly recommended for participation): English as a Lingua Franca (ELF), Constructive Alignment, Cultures of Teaching and Learning, Global Engagement, Managing and Assessing Group Work, Assessment for Learning. At the end of the course, participants will be required to use all their skills to interview a student and reflect on issues related to each of the six modules. Upon completion of the activities, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Introductory course for teachers dedicated to the use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) in teaching. Participants will learn how to integrate these technologies into educational programs, designing immersive experiences to enhance active learning. The course includes practical examples, use of VR/AR tools and apps, and simple techniques for creating customized content.

Teaching inclusively: awareness of gender perspectives and diversity is designed for teachers interested in promoting fairer, more inclusive, and more aware teaching. Through practical examples and reflections, the course offers insights into recognizing and overcoming stereotypes, biases, and gender inequalities in learning contexts. The aim is to value all forms of diversity, improving the educational experience. Participating means actively contributing to the development of a more responsible academic culture.
