The StepToStart initiative was created as part of the university initiatives to promote the foundation of innovative start-ups, beginning with academic research results, in 2020, in collaboration with the business incubator I3P.
The goal of “StepToStart” is to offer researchers, doctoral students, professors, scholarship and grant holders of Politecnico di Torino the basic elements to create an academic start-up (Spin-Offs) through themed meetings.
The initiative, organised in collaboration with different partners of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and spin-offs of different Italian universities, provided training to researchers on different topics essential to launching an entrepreneurial idea.
The topics treated range from the process and tools for creating an academic start-up to constructing a team, from the expertise necessary for developing a business to information relating to IPRs as strategic assets, to the methods with which to grow a spin-off, whether through partnerships with businesses or by raising risk capital.
