Supergravity and String Theory

Supervisor: Laura AndrianopoliMario Trigiante

The research activity of our group is framed within supergravity and superstring theories as candidates of a unifying quantum theory of the four fundamental interactions. In particular, possible subjects for a PhD thesis are:

  1. Study within the holographic correspondence between four-dimensional supergravity and field theory in 2+1 dimensions, of models in three dimensions with unconventional supersymmetry” and their applications to the description of the properties of graphene in the presence of curvature and torsion;
  2. Study of hidden symmetries” in supergravity theories in diverse dimensions;
  3. Analysis of AdS vacua in extended supergravity theories, asymptotically anti de Sitter soliton and instanton solutions and their holographic description in the dual gauge theory.
