Quantum technologies in the frame of quantum optics

The PhD activity related to this topic concerns the experimental study of the emerging quantum technologies (i.e. based on the exploitation of the correlations typical of quantum systems, such as entanglement) by using optical states. 

This work would be carried out at INRIM Labs in M.Genoveses group (which, one of the first in Italy, has addressed these research topics since more than twenty years) and would be directed, more specifically, to one of the following topics: 

  • new measurement concepts in quantum mechanics: from weak values to projective measurements
  • quantum metrology and sensing with colour centres in diamond
  • quantum imaging.
