Call for Papers | ACM Interactive Surfaces and Spaces

The Interactive Surfaces and Spaces (ISS) track of PACMHCI is the premier publication venue for research on the design, development, and use of new and emerging interactive surface technologies and interactive spaces.

Topics
Contributions are welcomed on a wide range of topics relating to interactive surfaces and spaces as well as novel interface technologies, including (but not limited to):
  • Novel interactive surfaces and/or spaces: Hardware, architectures, interaction design, technical foundations, algorithms, and/or toolkits that enable the building of new interactive surfaces or spaces.
  • Methodologies and tools: Novel methods, or combinations of approaches and tools used in building collaborative systems or studying their use.
  • Empirical investigations: Findings, guidelines, and/or studies of practices, communication, collaboration, or use of interactive surfaces and/or spaces.
  • Domain-specific applications: Applications to health, art, transportation, gaming, sustainability, education, accessibility, science, business, collaboration, or other domains.
  • Theory: Critical analysis or theory with clear relevance to the design or study of interactive surfaces and/or spaces.

The conference ACM Interactive Surfaces and Spaces (ACM ISS 2026) will take place at the Politecnico di Torino from 23 to 26 November 2026.
