Trustworthy AI Agents for Human-Centered Social Impact

The course Trustworthy AI Agents for Human-Centered Social Impact focuses on exploring trustworthy, human-centered artificial intelligence systems, ranging from social robots and healthcare chatbots to political advertising transparency and misinformation in messaging apps, through lectures, hands-on activities, and critical discussions of ethical and regulatory trade-offs.

The course lasts 17 hours and will take place from 6 May to 5 June 2026. It is open to PhD students, both internal and external to Politecnico. The programme includes lectures, practical activities, and moments of critical discussion on ethical and regulatory aspects.
The course features internationally renowned scholars who will be short-term visiting researchers at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering-DAUIN. In particular, Yvonne Rogers FRS (University College London) - human-centered interaction design; AI and robotic systems, and Fabrício Benevenuto de Souza (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais) - transparency, auditing, and misinformation at scale.
