Michel Foucault and Neoliberalism as Rationality of Government
The lecture is part of the Ph.D. program in Urban and Regional Development, within the Political Theory course “What is Neoliberalism?” taught by professor Isabella Consolati of the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning-DIST.
The lecture will be delivered by Antonio Del Vecchio on 1 April 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Biography
Antonio Del Vecchio is a fixed-term researcher in the History of Political Thought at the University of Bologna. His research focuses on the main traditions of modern political thought and on the critical perspectives that emerged during the 20th century (notably within the Marxist tradition, the Frankfurt School, French post-structuralist philosophy, and postcolonial theory). He has authored two monographs, Un'amicizia stellare: traiettorie della critica in Derrida e Foucault (Il Mulino, 2018) and La legge nell'Oceano. Ugo Grozio e le origini dello spazio politico moderno (Il Mulino, 2020), as well as several journal articles. He has also edited, together with Carlo Galli, the Italian edition of U. Grozio’s Il diritto della guerra e della pace (Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Filosofici Press, 2023).
