Left and right hemisphere brain: engineer or poet?
Seminar held by Prof. Guido Pagana with the collaboration of Paola Dusio.
The left hemisphere of the brain is "the engineer": besides being specialized in linguistic processes, are more proficient in those sequential and perception-handling events which take place over time. The right hemisphere is the "poet", more specialized in Visual processing and perception of images, in their spatial organization and emotional interpretation.
We will try to pursue anatomical locations that correspond to interactions between the brain, language and behavior.
We will face the queen of our brain's abilities: music. Which hemisphere comes into play? How do we get information on timing? Where is our metronome? Which areas on the brain are interested (emotions and rationality), when we meet music?
