Special Talk from Brussels: The Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP)

The first Special Talk from Brussels of the 2026 edition will take place on Tuesday, 5 May 2026 at 14:30, focusing on STEP-Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform, an initiative aimed at supporting the development and manufacturing of critical technologies in the following sectors to enhance the EU’s competitiveness and resilience:

• Digital technologies and deep-tech innovation
• Clean and resource-efficient technologies
• Biotechnologies
• Defence technologies

During the event, Davide Lombardo, Senior Expert, Competitiveness, Financial Instruments and STEP, together with other members of the European Commission’s “STEP team”, will provide an overview of the initiative, outlining the European context in which the regional STEP call is framed, with its publication expected around mid-May. The speakers will also be available to answer any questions.

The webinar is addressed to Politecnico di Torino staff and to companies belonging to the RETE - Rete delle Eccellenze Tecnologiche.
