Unite! open science model for a sustainable world

On Friday 3 March 2023, the event entitled "Unite! open science model for a sustainable world" will be held in the Maxwell Conference Room: the workshop will be held by Rubén Vicente-Sáez, leader of Work Package "Creating a High Impact European Open Science and Innovation University", part of the project UNITE.H2020 (coordinated by Politecnico and financed by Horizon2020 programme), Mauro Paschetta, Open Science expert at Politecnico, professor Roberto Zanino, Coordinator of UNITE.H2020 project, and professor Federica Cappelluti, Rector's Advisor for Open Science.

Abstract

Science is being reshaped by advances in digital technology and tools, including big data, artificial intelligence and 3D printing.
Open science encompasses unhindered access to scientific articles, access to data from public research, and collaborative research enabled by ICT tools and incentives. The digital era has thus made open science possible and seen its practices, norms and goals expand. Broadening access to scientific publications and data is at the heart of open science, so that research outputs are in the hands of as many as possible, and potential benefits are spread as widely as possible, possibly by all humanity.
