Scientific Diplomacy and Academic Cooperation at the Heart of the Japan Hub Mission
The mission to Japan of Prof. Giuseppe Quaglia, Director of the Japan Hub, and Giovanni Colucci, Research Manager, continues.
On June 10 the delegation from Politecnico di Torino met in Tokyo with the Italian Ambassador to Japan, Mario Vattani, and the Scientific Attaché, Gianluigi Serianni. In the year marking the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan, the Embassy is actively promoting scientific cooperation between the two countries through seminars, initiatives, and events aimed at fostering dialogue and exchange among researchers. Key topics discussed during the meeting included strengthening the international mobility of students and faculty members, as well as enhancing collaboration with industry to support joint research activities and technology transfer.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Institute of Science Tokyo, a long-standing partner with which Politecnico di Torino enjoys a well-established and fruitful collaboration. The meeting provided an important opportunity to explore new avenues for expanding joint activities in research, education, and academic mobility. During the visit, Prof. Daisuke Matsuura was also awarded the certificate of Fellow of the PoliTO Japan Hub Academy.
The day concluded with a seminar delivered by Prof. Giuseppe Quaglia on the latest developments in the field of service robotics.
