Magalhães Network 2025 General Assembly

Politecnico di Torino is pleased to host the 2025 General Assembly of the Magalhães Network, an international consortium of universities committed to fostering academic cooperation across Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean in the fields of engineering, architecture, and technological innovation.

The General Assembly is the decision-making body of the Network. Its annual gathering it is also an opportunity to strengthen intercontinental partnerships, share best practices, and promote joint initiatives in higher education and research.

The 2025 General Assembly will take place from 3 to 5 November in Torino, Italy.

 

The 20th Anniversary of Magalhães Network

 

The Magalhães Network will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a dedicated event on November 4th.

Venues

Main Engineering Campus

The large complex on Corso Duca degli Abruzzi will host the first day of the Magalhães Network General Assembly.
Covering 122,000 square meters, it serves as the main Engineering campus. Opened in 1958, it is complemented by the Cittadella Politecnica - a modern, 170,000-square-meter complex adjacent to the main building which includes spaces for students, research, technology transfer, and services.

Architecture, Design and Urban Planning Campus

The Castello del Valentino will host the second and third days of the Magalhães Network General Assembly.
Recognised by UNESCO in 1997 as a part of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy (Italy) World Heritage site, and situated on the banks of the River Po, the Castello del Valentino is an important historic monument in Piedmont’s regional capital and houses the main offices for the Departments of Architecture of the Politecnico di Torino.
This Savoy residence was built in many phases beginning in the mid-sixteenth century.
The 1859 Casati law established at the Castello del Valentino the Scuola di Applicazione per gli ingegneri di Torino (Royal School for Engineers of Torino), which then became the Regio Politecnico (Royal Polytechnic).
