The Winter School on "Thermal Phenomena Related to Stress in Materials", organized by the THExOR Research Group, will cover deformation mechanisms, thermodynamic phenomena in metallic materials, and infrared thermography applications in mechanical engineering.
Topics include:
- Deformation mechanisms and thermodynamic phenomena in metallic materials
- Electromagnetic radiation and thermal transport
- Surface temperature measurement techniques
- Infrared thermography: methods, applications, and challenges
The Winter School will also feature a series of lectures by experts in the field:
- Nicola Genna from Teledyne FLIR Solutions on "IR Cameras Technology"
- Professor Mauro Ricotta from the University of Padova on "Estimating Intrinsic Dissipation Using the Second Harmonic of the Temperature Signal"
- Professor Giovanni Meneghetti from the University of Padova on "Evaluating the J-Integral with Infrared Thermography"
- Martin Matušů from the Czech Technical University on "Alternative Methods for Estimating Fatigue Life via IR Thermography"
- Professor Umberto Galietti from Bari Polytechnic University on "Damage Analysis with Energy and Temperature Variation Assessment"
- Lorenzo Maccioni from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano on "Cycloidal Gearboxes and Infrared Thermography Analysis"
This course is recognized for Ph.D. accreditation credits.
