Second stop of the Japan Hub Director’s mission in Japan: visit to SMC and Waseda University
The mission of the Director of the Japan Hub, accompanied by the Project Manager of the project, continues.
On Thursday, January 15, Prof. Giuseppe Quaglia and Giovanni Colucci visited the Tokyo offices of SMC, a leading Japanese company in the field of pneumatics and industrial automation. The Italian delegation was initially welcomed at the company’s headquarters by the President and CEO, Mr. Yoshiki Takada, and subsequently visited the new Technical Center in Kashiwa.
The meeting represented a first and significant opportunity for dialogue with one of the key players in the Japanese industrial landscape, laying the groundwork for potential future research collaborations.
On Friday, January 16, the delegation visited Waseda University. Following an initial meeting with the Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Masahiko Gemma, the afternoon was dedicated to a tour of the laboratories of Prof. Jin Kusaka, which specialize in engine and propulsion systems.
The visit made it possible to explore new potential areas of collaboration in the fields of research and student exchange.
