Biography

After obtaining my secondary school diploma in electronic and telecommunication engineering, I enrolled in the Degree Course in Physical Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin, graduating and subsequently enrolling in the Master's Degree Course in Physics of Advanced Technologies at the University of Turin, where I cultivated my passion for solid state physics and at the same time for engineering fields such as nanotechnologies, nanomaterial growth and surface characterization technologies, where I also learned to use simulation and data analysis tools. My Bachelor's Degree course ended with a thesis entitled: Gallium Nitride Laser, Physical Behavior, Technologies and Applications, during which I was able to further deepen the technological and physical aspects of semiconductor lasers. During my master's degree I worked on the simulation of semiconductor devices for radiation detection, in the context of the LHC upgrade at CERN in Geneva. During this path, I have acquired skills in the use of TCAD, a finite element simulation software. I am currently a PhD student at Polytechnic of Turin, where i am working in the field of systems for the detection of tumor biomarkers produced by lung cell cultures, through the use of organ on a chip technology. My PhD program takes place in collaboration with the IBM research center in Almaden, California, and with the Candiolo's Research Institute.
