Biography

Miryam Elizabeth Paredes Quintanilla received her master’s degree in Engineering Science in the Field of Electrical Engineering from The University of Queenslad (UQ) in Australia, and currently, she is a PhD candidate inside the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) in Italy. She worked at the Geophysical Institute of the Escuela Politecnica Nacional (IG-EPN) in Ecuador as Technical Engineer and Geophysicist for more than ten years (2005-2013, 2015-2017), focusing on the control, design, implementation, maintenance and operation of seismic and volcanic instrumental networks. Currently, she is a Marie Curie fellow working inside the Cloud-MicroPhysics-Turbulence-Telemetry (COMPLETE) Innovative Training Network - H2020 Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions, recruited by the project partner Envisens Technologies S.r.l in Italy. Her current research interests include Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), Internet-of-Things (IoT), atmospheric and environmental monitoring, cloud microphysics, electromagnetic propagation and, electronic design.
