Biography

I received my Master degree in electronic engineering in Universitá degli studi di Padova in 2008. I started my work experience in Calearo Antenne SpA, where I was involved in important projects aimed to develop devices for the automotive market. In this field, I gained a design experience on RF circuits, and I improved my laboratory skills working on prototypes and performing measurements. My engineering work included simulations, integration and verification of the best solutions in high volume manufactured radio devices

Since 2014, I am part of the Antenna and EM Modelling Group at IMST GmbH, where I am working on many projects for very different applications, from medical to military. Due to the heterogeneous nature of projects, I gather experience in different frequency bands (13 MHz to 24 GHz) and with different technologies. Thanks to my technical background, I was involved in antenna designs, for projects requiring either integrated antenna solution or antenna arrays, as well as projects requiring RF circuit designs (LNAs, microstrip filters, microwave devices, etc.). My tasks include all phase of design, from concept definition to simulation with dedicated software, PCB layout (integrating RF/microwave structures with circuits and components) and finally measurements on prototypes.

My strong willingness to improve my technical knowledge and my research skills lead to start the PHD program at Politecnico di Torino, under the supervision of Prof. Francesca Vipiana. The research activity is carried concurrently with my daily work as collaboration between Politecnico di Torino and IMST GmbH, with the goal of investigating innovative methods for applying reconfigurabilty to antennas and feeding networks. The two main topics of my research involved the design of a frequency and polarization agile RFID antenna, and the development of a reconfigurable feeding for extending the scan range of an array for automotive radar application.
