Biography

Alaa Awad Abdellatif received his Ph.D. in 2018 from Politecnico di Torino, where he is currently a Postdoctoral researcher. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees with honors in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from Cairo University, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. He also worked as a Research Associate and Research Assistant at Qatar University, from 2013 till 2014, and at Cairo University, from 2009 till 2012, respectively. Dr. Alaa Abdellatif has authored or co-authored over 33 refereed journal, magazine, and conference papers in reputable international journals and conferences. He has served as a technical reviewer for many international journals and magazines, including IEEE Systems, Transactions on Multimedia, Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and IEEE Communications magazine. His research interests include Edge computing, machine learning analysis, Blockchain, in-network processing, and resources optimization over wireless heterogeneous networks, sensor networks, smart-health systems, IoT applications, and vehicular networks.
He was the recipient of the Graduate Student Research Award (GSRA) from Qatar National Research Fund for 2014-2018, in addition to the Best Paper Award from Wireless Telecommunications Symposium 2018, Phoenix, USA. He is also the recipient of the 2018 Quality Award from Politecnico di Torino.
