Biography

Dario Pilori was born in Varese (VA) in 1990. He received his Bachelor of Science (2012) and Master of Science (2015) in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, both cum Laude. Between October 2013 and October 2014, August 2015 and October 2015 he was an intern in the Optical Transmission Systems research group, Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia) Bell Labs, Holmdel NJ, USA, where he worked in advanced Digital Signal Processing for optical communications under the supervision of Dr. Sebastian Randel. On March 2019 he got his PhD (cum Laude) in Electric, Electronic and Communication Engineering (EECE) at Politecnico di Torino, Torino, Italy, working on the application of advanced Digital Signal processing techniques in optical communications. In particular, he focused on constellation shaping techniques for long-haul links and novel architectures for short-reach datacenter communications. Starting from September 2019 he works at the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRiM) as Primo Tecnologo (senior technologist) in the IT systems department.
