Biography

I obtained both my bachelor's and master's degree in electronic engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 2013 and 2015 respectively. Now I am pursuing the PhD in Electronic engineering at the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication (DET) of Politecnico di Torino under the supervision of Prof. Zamboni. During the PhD I am working at the development of a CAD framework for the design, simulation of digital circuits based on beyond CMOS technologies in the VLSI group. Emerging technologies are based on completely new paradigms with respect to CMOS, thus no CAD tools are available to explore the design possibilities and the limits brought in by those technologies. With my research I am tackeling this issue developing a complete framework of tools. The ToPoliNano (Torino Politecnico Nanotechnologies) framework is composed by two different tools: ToPoliNano & MagCAD. The former is an automatic place and route tool that starting from a VHDL netlist performs all the steps to obtain a physical layout based on beyond CMOS technologies. The latter is a tool that is used to custom design circuit through a simple GUI: the user can place the building blocks of the selected technology inside the drawing area and the simulate the circuit to verify the behavior of the circuit. The framework is available online.
