Biography

Waqar Hassan was born in Lahore (Pakistan) on 26th December 1988.
In July 2011 he graduated with Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Central Punjab, Lahore (Pakistan). His bachelor thesis was about Active Noise Control (ANC) using Sample Following Active Noise Control (SFANC) algorithm.
From November 2011 till May 2012 he worked as Senior Project Coordinator with China Communications Services Corporation Limited, Lahore (Pakistan).
He moved to Turin (Italy) to pursue higher education in October 2012.
In October 2014 he graduated with Master of Electronic Engineering degree from Politecnico di Torino, Torino (Italy) with specialization in Embedded Systems. His graduation thesis was on High-level Synthesis (HLS) and integration of Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) coprocessor on FPGA under the supervision of Prof Paolo Prinetto and Prof Stefano Di Carlo.
From September 2014 he started working with Telecommunication Networks Group (TNG) of Politecnico di Torino under the supervision of Prof Guido Albertengo on Telecom Italia’s project in the domain of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).
Since November 2015, he has been with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) of Politecnico di Torino as a PhD student, under the supervision of Prof Guido Albertengo. His PhD thesis was titled, “Smartphone Based Applications for Road Traffic Telematics”.
