Non-invasive Ventilation Device

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lab developed an innovative non-invasive ventilation system that overcame key limitations of conventional respirators. The solution minimizes the spread of viral pathogens, conserves medical-grade oxygen, and improves patient comfort.

Green, Safe, and Low-Cost Measurement Systems

The team created an experimental test bench for velocimetry studies aimed at cardiovascular monitoring. Designed to meet strict safety standards while significantly reducing costs, the system uses a smartphone and low-power light source—cutting energy consumption and improving accessibility.

D34Health and NODES

The Centre is a key player in projects funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). These projects aim to enhance innovation in healthcare by improving diagnostics, monitoring, and therapeutic processes—including rehabilitation.
Main initiatives include D34Health (Digital Driven Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Therapeutics for Sustainable Healthcare) and NODES (North-West Digital and Sustainable Ecosystem), both involving strong collaborations with industrial and academic excellence across the region and beyond. The combined budget is approximately €238M, with €30M allocated to Politecnico di Torino.
