The major automotive markets are increasingly focused on sustainability. From the European Union to the United States and China, the common goal is to reduce the environmental impact of road transport by enhancing vehicle efficiency and investing in cutting-edge technologies. In this context, CARS – Center for Automotive Research and Sustainable Mobility - stands as a multidisciplinary research hub, positioning itself as a national and international reference point for the analysis and experimentation in the fields of transportation, electrification, and smart mobility.
Goals
- Safer and cleaner road transport for people and the environment
- Achieving climate neutrality: a technological and digital challenge
The CARS Interdepartmental Center relies on the CARS-HEV@PoliTO Infrastructure (Center for Automotive Research and Sustainable Mobility – Hybrid/Electric Powertrain and Vehicle Laboratory). This infrastructure is dedicated to the testing of conventional, hybrid, and electric vehicles and powertrains.
Research and Innovation (R&I) infrastructures are the equipment, resources, and services used by the scientific community to conduct research and promote innovation.
