The new leaders of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent and Uzavtosanoat visiting Politecnico di Torino visita al Politecnico

On February 21st, the CEO of Uzavtosanoat Ulugbek Rozukulov, the new Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent Olimjon Tuychiev, and the head of strategic development and international relations of the same Uzbek university Toir Makhamatkhujaev, visited Politecnico di Torino. The time spent at our University, represented both an institutional visit and an opportunity to reflect on the automotive industry in Uzbekistan.

The proceedings began in the morning with a meeting between the Uzbek delegation, the outgoing Rector Guido Saracco, Professor Anita Tabacco, project manager of the Uzbekistan project for Politecnico di Torino, and the incoming Rector Stefano Corgnati. The perfect occasion, therefore, to strengthen relationships and open a new season of collaboration with Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

The Uzbek delegation, accompanied by Professor Pierluigi Leone, visited the Interdepartmental Center CARS - Center for Automotive Research and Sustainable Mobility, along with professors Nicola Amati and Andrea Tonoli. The visit continued with a meeting with the student team H2PolitO, which designs and builds prototypes for sustainable mobility, coordinated by Professor Massimiliana Carello.

Automotive was indeed the common thread of the morning, which concluded with a lecture in the Emma Strada Hall on the theme "Automotive industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan". An event open to the University to delve into the importance of the sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan, thanks to the intervention of Professor Ulugbek Rozukulov, currently CEO of the company Uzautosanoat, the Uzbek industrial group operating in this sector. Rozukulov was Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, where he contributed significantly to the creation and growth of the university, as well as to the development of relations with the Politecnico di Torino.
