Call for abstracts | International Conference on Cities’ Identity Through Architecture and Arts (CITAA 2026)

Marking ten years of international collaboration, the 10th edition of the International Conference on Cities' Identity Through Architecture and Arts (CITAA 2026) will be held in 2026.
Over time, CITAA has become a truly global forum, involving over 500 participants from 80 countries and promoting interdisciplinary dialogue on cities, culture, and identity.

CITAA 2026 invites scholars, practitioners, researchers, designers, and artists to explore the relationships between architecture, the arts, and urban identity. Topics include historical urban development, heritage conservation, contemporary design, public art, adaptive reuse, urban regeneration, and sustainable growth.

Through interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative exchange, the conference will generate insights that bridge theory and practice. Emphasis will be placed on the role of design education, research institutions, and creative industries in shaping inclusive, resilient, and culturally vibrant cities. Participants will be encouraged to consider both local and global perspectives, highlighting how urban identities evolve across diverse cultural and geographic contexts.

The 10th edition of the conference will be hosted at Politecnico di Torino, at Castello del Valentino, known for its architectural heritage, urban innovation, and cultural depth.

The conference will be held from September 8 to 10, 2026, and the Call for Abstracts is already open: it is possible to participate in the event as protagonists with their own research in the fields of architectural and urban heritage, artistic expression, identity-driven urban transformation, and sustainable, inclusive city-making.

Abstracts (max 300 words) must be submitted by February 10, 2026 (1st round).
The CITAA-2026 Proceedings will be published in the Springer/IEREK ASTI Series (indexed by SCOUPS * SCImago).

It is possible to register for the conference and submit abstracts on the event website.
