Drawings and representation

The discipline of drawings and representation within the PA Doctorate expresses its disciplinary specificities in the areas of analysis, interpretation, and communication of cultural heritage, with particular attention, in all three areas, to the continuous developments offered by technological and digital innovation. With regard to analysis, the discipline of design operates with the tools of descriptive geometry and the history of representation for the analysis of archival documentation and artistic literature, and with surveying tools for the analysis of material heritage (territorial, urban, architectural, archaeological, museum, etc.) and immaterial heritage.

Other areas of study include digital modeling (geometric, parametric, algorithmic, BIM, HBIM) for reconstructive digital modeling and informational modeling of heritage. With regard to communication, the discipline offers its versatility in the use of representation tools, from analogue ones (physical models, also for inclusive communication) to digital ones (including animation, augmented reality, and virtual reality). (modelli fisici, anche per la comunicazione inclusiva) a quelli digitali (comprensivi dell’animazione, della realtà aumentata e della realtà virtuale).
