Specialist tracks

In order to further enrich and customise your training, during your final year the Master's degree programme in Engineering and Management offers various specialist tracks. Although these tracks are strongly recommended to students for targeted training consistent with specific professional fields, they are not binding. Each student, in fact, retains complete freedom to configure his or her own study plan, selecting subjects even from different paths, in order to build a tailor-made education that best meets his or her professional aspirations and personal interests.

This study path explores the use of data to support economic analysis, innovation and managerial decision-making. The courses address topics related to data collection, organization and valorization, Business Intelligence, the analysis of large datasets and optimization methods applied to business problems. The study path enables students to develop skills to transform data into information that can support and guide decision-making.

This study path is dedicated to the study of financial markets, the different types of financial intermediaries and the tools supporting corporate financial decisions. The courses explore methods for determining firms’ ratings, credit risk pricing, corporate finance and private capital. The study path also integrates an international perspective, useful for understanding the economic and competitive context in which corporate financial decisions are made.

International Business and Economics

This study path addresses the themes of innovation management and economics, strategic marketing and entrepreneurship. The courses enable students to acquire skills that are useful for contributing, within a company, to the management and organization of the development of a new product or service: from design choices and product engineering, as well as production or service delivery processes, to the strategic and economic assessment of market positioning. The study path also explores the processes of business model design and entrepreneurial idea evaluation.

The study path is delivered entirely in Italian. The subjects suggested for specialised preparation are:

Today, the tertiary sector accounts for over 70% of Italy’s GDP. This study path focuses on the tools and economic and managerial models required to design and deliver highly innovative services, taking into account the technological and institutional specificities of service sectors. The courses explore methodologies for assessing and controlling service quality, the design and management of ICT-based solutions, and innovation and development processes for digital products and services.

This study path explores technological transformations related to Industry 4.0 and their impact on production, organizational and social systems. The courses address digital transformation, technologies supporting production, and the socio-economic impact of technological change. The study path enables students to analyze the evolution of industrial processes and the role of digital technologies in new production and organizational models.

This study path addresses the themes of innovation management, new product and service development, and entrepreneurship. The courses enable students to acquire skills that are useful for contributing to the management and organization of the development of a new product or service within a company, with particular attention to design choices, product engineering, and production or service delivery processes. The study path also explores entrepreneurial idea evaluation, business model design, and the legal aspects related to innovation and technology.

This study path explores the integration of sustainability into corporate strategies, production processes and business decisions. The courses address sustainable management, the environmental sustainability of technologies, sustainable manufacturing and the legal framework of sustainable development, with attention to clean technologies and corporate social responsibility. The study path enables students to acquire tools to assess and manage the environmental, social and regulatory impact of business activities and to orient products, processes and business models towards sustainability objectives.

This study path is dedicated to the analysis of economic, managerial and technological opportunities connected to the development of the space sector. The courses address innovation in the space economy, space exploration and the use of resources in space, with attention to the economic and application-related impacts of space technologies. The study path enables students to understand the main industrial dynamics of a highly innovative and rapidly evolving sector, assessing the impact of new technologies, data sources, services and applications both for companies operating in the sector and for other industrial domains.

This study path explores value creation in supply chains and their impact on production and distribution systems. The courses address the design of logistics networks, the outsourcing of logistics activities, performance measurement, cost evaluation, the impact of digital technologies and sustainability in the supply chain, as well as the management of storage systems. The study path also enables students to acquire knowledge of software environments for the simulation of production systems and supply chains, and to develop tools to support decision-making processes in organizational and industrial contexts.
