Continuing your studies

After completing your bachelor's degree programme, you can decide to continue your studies with a Master’s degree programme or in a 1st level specializing Master, at PoliTO or elsewhere (in Italy or abroad).

The admission without the need to complete any additional curricular requirements, is guaranteed for the following Master's degree programmes (the same may also apply to other Master's degree programmes, as your academic background will always be assessed on the basis of the admission requirements).

Graduates in Mechanical Engineering have a wide range of opportunities, covering all those industries that – in different fields – design, produce, and maintain components and systems, in plant engineering companies, in service and consultancy firms, as well as in public bodies.

Also the new global themes such as mobility, industry 4.0 and environmental sustainability will require a versatile mechanical engineer for:

  • the design and revision of products and processes;
  • the design and management of production systems and methods, the assessment of processes’ productivity and products quality;
  • the design and maintenance of industrial plants, the design of technical services, layout, and internal logistics of plants and departments;
  • the technical-commercial service, the purchase of materials, mechanical components and systems, assisting companies’ commercial services.
