Call for applications | IC Design Fundamentals

The course introduces silicon-based microelectronic systems, from raw materials used in semiconductor fabrication to the design of integrated circuits. It covers the physical and electrical properties of silicon, the main fabrication steps, structural elements, and the challenges involved in integrated circuit production.

The course is intended for Master’s students and PhD candidates interested in microelectronics and integrated circuit design.

Developed within the European GreenChips-EDU project, the course includes a sustainability-oriented module focusing on circular semiconductor manufacturing, responsible material sourcing, and low-impact design methodologies. The module also addresses the environmental footprint of key processes (wafer processing, material selection, and chip packaging) and introduces strategies for energy-efficient circuit design and sustainable production workflows across the ASIC design flow.

End of application period: 13 September 2026.
