Davide Amoroso
BOOST: A Digital Tool for Bulging Modeling and Prediction
Abstract
Bulging tests are widely used to assess the structural stability of plastic bottles, but they require significant time and resources. The seminar introduces BOOST, a digital simulation tool that predicts the onset of bulging by modeling the coupled behavior of the container and the internal fluid. Case studies on commercial bottle formats show how BOOST accurately reproduces experimental results while drastically reducing testing time, highlighting the potential of digital tools in modern packaging design.
