Building Datacenter Infrastructures at Aruba

Datacenters represent one of the key infrastructures in the modern world, with an increasing importance in our everyday life. Alessandro Bruschini will describe the main architectural challenges in building and operating a datacenter; in particular, he will focus on their design and architecture, providing an overview of their hardware infrastructure and the power and cooling solutions, while also giving us an insight into the security measures and the operational best practices. Aruba, one of the main players in the Italian cloud market, is the market leader for datacenter infrastructures in our country, with the Global Cloud Data Center (IT3), the largest data center campus in Italy (with a surface area of 200,000m²) on the outskirts of Milan; two Data Centers in Tuscany, Arezzo (IT1 and IT2), which, thanks to their proximity and multiple interconnections, offer maximum levels of redundancy; and the Hyper Cloud Data Center (IT4) in its final construction phases in Rome.

Alessandro Bruschini started his journey in the world of telecommunications in 1989, as a designer and manager of metropolitan networks at Telecom Italia. In 2002, he moved to a newborn local TLC operator, with increasing responsibilities till reaching the role of General Manager. In 2009 he joined Aruba and participated in the design and implementation of the Arezzo data center (DC-IT1). As Infrastructure Manager at Aruba S.p.A., he has been in charge of the design and management of the Global Cloud Data Centre in Bergamo (DC-IT3) and now the Hyper Cloud Data Centre in Rome (DC-IT4, under construction).
