Her current research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in the field of organ transplantation. Through her project, "Cutting-edge Bioengineering Solutions for Advancing Organ Transplants," she aims to develop AI-powered systems that support the transplant process—from optimizing organ matching to improving patient monitoring and post-operative outcomes. Her goal is to enhance clinical decision-making and contribute to more effective, personalized, and accessible transplant care.
Prior to her PhD, Alexandra conducted research on EEG analysis and machine learning applications in epilepsy treatment, presenting a framework that combined brain connectivity modeling with non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. She has also contributed to a study of wearable biomedical devices for multimodal biosignal monitoring, with applications in telehealth.
With a passion for improving patient outcomes through technology, Alexandra brings a multidisciplinary and international perspective to her work. Of Greek and Italian origin, she is fluent in multiple languages and values collaboration across cultures and fields of expertise. Her vision is to help bridge engineering innovation and clinical practice to create meaningful impact in healthcare.
