Biografia
Erhan Ferhatoglu obtained his BSc and MSc degrees in 2014 and 2017, respectively, at Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey. His master study was on the reduced order modeling of geometrically nonlinear and frictional structures, which was awarded as the 'MSc Thesis of the Year' for 2017/2018 academic term at METU. He has also recently earned his PhD degree with 'cum laude' at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. His doctoral research was on the investigation of nonlinear dynamic behavior of turbine bladed disks with friction damping, particularly focusing on the response variability phenomenon resulted by the non-unique friction forces. He is now a post-doctoral researcher at the same university. In addition to his scientific research, he has many years of work experience in the industry, particularly on the aeronautics and turbomachinery applications. He worked as a structural dynamics engineer at Turkish Aerospace Industries (Ankara, Turkey), and as a researcher with a secondment agreement at Baker Hughes (Florence, Italy). He was also a visiting researcher at Rice University (Texas, USA) in 2019.
