Digitalised Fields: Scenario of Landscape Change in the Context of Farming Digitalisation
The PhD candidate Feiran Huang (XXXVII cycle - URD) will discuss his ongoing research with Leonardo Ramondetti and Valentina Labriola (XXXVIII Cycle - DASP).
Our society has been undergoing the digital transformation in an unprecedented pace, and the farming sector is one of the key sectors that has been increasingly digitalized. This research investigates the impact of farming digitalisation on rural landscape and the method of scenario making has been adopted to elucidate the possible future landscape change driven by digital agriculture in the EU and China. The proposed landscape scenarios can be considered as a fundamental step to understand digital agriculture as a significant driving force of future landscape change, which has the potential to raise awareness and bridge disciplinary gap.
