Biography
Since 2023, he has been conducting research at Politecnico di Torino, first as a research scholar and, since October 2023, as a PhD student. His research focuses on the assessment of mobility and cognition in real-world conditions using wearable and smartphone-based sensors, integrating signal processing, machine learning, and biomechanical modeling. His work aims to develop robust and clinically meaningful digital mobility outcomes.
He is a main contributor to MobGap, an open-source package for digital mobility assessment developed within the European Mobilise-D project, and has contributed to technical validation studies, datasets, and methodological documentation. His research activity has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conference proceedings.
He has received several awards for his research, including Best Paper and Young Researcher awards from SIAMOC, international research travel grants, and a Royal Society International Exchange Grant. In 2025, he undertook a visiting research period at Newcastle University, focusing on the real-world assessment of head and trunk movements during walking in people with Parkinson’s disease.
Awards and Honors
