Biography

Professor at the Politecnico di Torino, Energy Department. He is in charge of the courses of "Safety and Risk Analysis", "Risk Analysis" and Environmental Impact Assessment and LCA". He is an expert in advanced methodologies dedicated to risk assessment and the reliability and maintenance engineering of complex technological systems, with particular reference to the fields of nuclear and conventional energy, process chemistry and oil & gas. He is the scientific manager of the SEADOG DENERG Laboratory and participates in the SEASTAR Competence Center established in Turin, at Environment Park, by Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, Politecnico di Torino and the Italian Institute for Technologies. In this framework, since 2018 he is working on the conversion of oil&gas off-shore rigs working on depleted reservoirs to find them a new role in energy transition (temporary storage of NG/H2 blending in offshore reservoirs, or carbon sequestration). He has published over 100 research works in national and international journals. It offers consultancy and training services for companies and organisations, in Italy and abroad. In 2016-2017 he was coordinator of the permanent, national Working Group on the Safety of Off-shore Oil & Gas Activities, as part of the VGR Risk Assessment and Management Conference.
