Biography

Sabrina Grassini received the M.S. degree in Chemistry from University of Torino in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2004. She is Full Professor of Applied Physical Chemistry with the Department of Applied Science and Technology at Politecnico di Torino. She is the Coordinator of the Advisory Board of the PhD Programme in Metrology at Politecnico di Torino since 2014. She is member of the “Teaching and Language Lab” of Politecnico di Torino and Advisor of the Women in Engineering Affinity Group, PoliTO IEEE Student Branch (2020-2022). She is Associate to the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Sezione di Torino and member of the INFN-CHNet (Cultural Heritage Network). Her research activities, which led to the publication of more than 230 papers in national and international journals and in the proceedings of international conferences, are devoted to fundamentals of plasma processes, cultural heritage, corrosion and protection of metals, sensors and medical measurements. She is VP Membership of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, member of the Steering Committee of the IEEE International Symposium on Medical Measurement and Applications (MeMeA), Secretary of TC-25 on Medical and Biomedical Measurements and Chair of TC-17 on Materials in Measurements. She served as General Chair of the International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference in 2017 (I2MTC2017), and of the MeMeA Symposia in 2005, 2020 and 2022. She is Secretary of the International Corrosion Council (ICC) and of the WP21-Corrosion of Archaeological and Historical Artefacts of the European Federation of Corrosion. She is Associate Editor of the IEEE Transaction of Instrumentation and Measurement and member of the Editorial Board of ACTA IMEKO, of the Journal of Egyptian Corrosion Society and of the Egyptian Journal of Archaeological and Restoration Studies.
