Abstract
By conducting a multi-sited ethnography, the project’s research aim is to understand in a more comprehensive fashion how resilience and participation correlate and whether and how cities can become more resilient by choosing a participatory approach to resilience. In this context, the ‘Radical Resilience’ project will first analyze the production of knowledge about ‘resilience’ and identify worldviews inscribed into this process. Secondly, the project further examines the effects that these policies and their outcomes may have on urban poor and women and their livelihoods. Finally, it identifies alternative knowledge formations and their transformative potential for the (future) city.
