The research team PoliTo-Tokyo Institute of Technology won the Bronze Research Paper Award
The international conference of IFToMM Italy, coordinated by Giuseppe Quaglia, professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering-DIMEAS, was held from 11th to 13th September at Politecnico di Torino. IFToMM Italy is the Italian association member of the international federation IFToMM - International Federation for the Theory of Machines and Mechanisms.
This year's edition confirmed the constant growth of the research community and the spirit of international collaboration. About 160 participants took part in the event, including around 30 members from some of the world's most prestigious universities in the field of mechanical and machine engineering.
In particular, the Japanese delegation was the largest one with 13 participants from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Kyoto University and Waseda University.
The joint PoliTo/Tokyo Institute of Technology research team, formed by Ryohei Morita, Ming Jiang, Andrea Botta, Yusuke Sugahara, Giuseppe Quaglia, Marco Ceccarelli, and Yukio Takeda, has been awarded the prestigious Bronze Research Paper Award for their scientific paper “Design and Preliminary Testing of WELiBot: A Wearable End-Effector Type Upper Limb Assistive Robot”.
This result is the outcome of the work carried out by the Japan Hub of Politecnico di Torino, coordinated by Prof. Quaglia, in building strong relations with Japanese entities.
