A delegation from Politecnico di Torino meets Dr. Noda, researcher at ATR, Kyoto, Japan.
On Thursday, June 20th, 2024, two research groups from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Politecnico di Torino participated in a meeting with Dr. Noda, a researcher from the Advanced Telecommunication Research (ATR) research center based in Kyoto, Japan. Also present at the meeting was Vice Rector for International Affairs Alberto Giuseppe Sapora.
The meeting was scheduled to learn more about the research activities of the ATR center with the aim of evaluating the possibility of future collaborations and periods abroad for students. The ATR center's studies are multifaceted and range from humanoid robotics to exoskeletons, from human-robot interaction to rehabilitation robotics. During the meeting, the delegation from Politecnico di Torino was able to visit the center's state-of-the-art laboratories and try out some of the prototypes, including an exoskeleton for ankle rehabilitation currently undergoing clinical trials. At the end of this meeting, Dr. Noda expressed his wide availability to host students from the Polytechnic of Turin for a period of internship in the ATR center.
