Politecnico is closer to European institutions thanks to its Brussels hub

Politecnico's hub in Brussels, where the Commission and other major European institutions are based, is now fully operational. Its aim is to monitor EU research funding policies and promote the related opportunities for the University's teaching staff and researchers.
Led by Laura D'Antuono, EU Research & Innovation Advisor, in coordination with the University's RIMIN - Research, Business Relations and Innovation Department, the hub is crucial for enhancing Politecnico's competitiveness in Europe regarding research calls, recognition within university networks, and the management of partnerships.
On Wednesday, the hub hosted a round table discussion to strengthen Politecnico's presence and role in supporting European institutions. Participants included hub director Roberto Zanino, Vice Rector for Internal Policies Stefano Corgnati, and Director of PoliTO Office of Foresight and Strategic Planning Giovanni De Santi. During the day, there were three meetings at the European Commission with the Directorates-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), Energy (DG Energy), and the Joint Research Center (JRC).
The hub's activities will enable Politecnico to strengthen its visibility in Europe through ongoing relations with European institutions and stakeholder representative bodies in Brussels. The hub will also facilitate the monitoring of funding initiatives and the development of projects to increase the availability of resources for local business communities and the Italian economy as a whole.
The initiative is the result of a collaboration agreement with Unioncamere and the Turin Chamber of Commerce, which gave Politecnico access to Brussels premises on Avenue Marnix.
