Between innovation and design: ASP Spring School Week at Santuario di Oropa

Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) went back to Santuario di Oropa (Biella) for the annual Spring School. Within ASP XXI cycle, 150 students from Politecnico di Torino and Politecnico di Milano gathered to participate in this event for unique opportunity for learning and growth.
Students teamed up on multidisciplinary projects, exploring topics ranging from health to fashion, from industry to artificial intelligence. This Spring School focused on two key topics, “Design Methods and Processes” and “Dynamics of Innovation”. Under the guidance of Professors Marco Cantamessa (Politecnico di Torino) and Gaetano Cascini (Politecnico di Milano), students explored various aspects of research, design and innovation. Through group work and speeches by experts such as Leo Italiano - a consultant at I3P, PoliTO innovative business incubator - the participants were able to deepen their knowledge and skills. Many tutors helped the students in this experience: Teresa Monti, Graziana Blandino, Andrea Panelli, Francesco Luigi Monte, Federico Morosi, Beatrice Dal Pio Luogo, Qing Sheng, Massimo Panarotto
The event was not only about studying: convivial and leisure moments enriched the experience, culminating in the award ceremonies for the pitch presentations. The winning groups received symbolic trophies: the “Cucchiarella” for Cascini's school and the “Bastone” for Cantamessa's school, conferred on the students as per tradition.
This kind of residential experience is crucial for the students, allowing them to explore and deepen topics different from their degree programs. Thanks to the Alta Scuola Politecnica, they gained valuable tools to tackle new engineering challenges that require interdisciplinary and innovative approaches.
