Fire safety in photovoltaic systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructures
Within the framework of the Fire Safety Engineering (FSE) course of the Master’s degree programmes in Civil and Building Engineering, a Technological Lecture will be held on fire safety in photovoltaic systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructures.
The lecture will take place on 20 May 2026, from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
The increasing diffusion of these technologies introduces new challenges in terms of fire prevention and risk management. The lecture will analyse the main associated risks, exploring ignition mechanisms, regulatory aspects, design solutions, and strategies for risk prevention and mitigation.
The aim is to provide a clear and up-to-date framework to address fire safety in new energy infrastructures in an informed and effective way.
The lecture will be delivered by Ing. Claudio Giacalone, civil engineer and Commander of the Fire Brigade of the Province of Vercelli, and is organised within the Fire Safety Engineering (FSE) course (Prof. Roberto Vancetti).
