The Unite! Widening Training Series 2026
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) will host the next Unite! Widening Training Series from 26 to 28 May 2026.
This intensive three-day “lunch-to-lunch” programme, featuring interactive sessions, workshops, peer work, and dedicated networking opportunities, has been specifically designed for PhD candidates and early-career researchers from both Unite! partner institutions and Widening universities.
As the academic landscape becomes increasingly globalised, technical expertise alone is no longer the sole benchmark for success. This training series aims to equip the next generation of scholars with the essential skills needed to navigate ethical complexities and work in diverse professional environments.
The course focuses on transparency, gender balance, and cultural diversity in research environments. Throughout the sessions, participants will address one guiding question: how can we build research environments that are fair, transparent, and inclusive in everyday practice?

- Global Competences - developing strategies for working in international teams and enhancing intercultural communication.
