AI for Materials Design
On Tuesday, 17 March 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the new IAS Seminar #03/2026 will take place, entitled AI for Materials Design, which will feature Professor Sir Konstantin Novoselov, winner of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics, one of the world's leading experts in the field of advanced materials and the physics of matter.
The seminar will explore the role of Artificial Intelligence in the design of new-generation materials, with a focus on innovative systems inspired by biology, capable of self-repair, adaptation and information storage, and on the contribution of new materials to the development of computational architectures beyond the von Neumann paradigm, with potential benefits in terms of energy efficiency.
